According to the latest reports, security forces remain stationed only at the airport in Khwaja Dako district, 17 kilometers from the city.

Sheberghan is the second provincial capital to fall to the Taliban in the last two days.

Lawmakers of Jawzjan province blamed the government for the lack of attention to the security situation in the territory and told that the concerned authorities remain indifferent to the issue.

It was revealed this Saturday that at least 150 members of the public uprising forces, led by Commander Ali Sarwar, arrived in Sheberghan to assist the regular troops on the ground.
