‘To the rebellious, fighting youth of the world, I send you a hug on this day. Do not let anything or anyone take away your dreams’, the Venezuelan president wrote on Twitter.

‘Always maintain the enthusiasm and joy as a driving force to advance in the construction of the future of greatness you deserve’, the head of state added on the platform.

International Youth Day is celebrated every August 12 and aims at bringing the problems of this sector to the fore to the international community, as well as to promote their potential as key actors in the construction of society.

In 1999, the UN General Assembly designated this date to annually celebrate the role of young people as key agents of change, in addition to raising awareness about the challenges and problems they must face.
