According to the British government´s statement, the Taliban were also asked to facilitate the safe evacuation of foreigners and Afghans who want to leave the country.

The G7 (made up of Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and UK) does everything possible to evacuate vulnerable people from Kabul airport, and calls on all parties to continue to facilitate them evacuation.

After warning of the current situation after the seizure of power by the Taliban and the withdrawal of US-led international coalition troops, G7 foreign ministers also called on the Taliban to uphold the rights of women, children and minorities, ensure the protection of civilians and to host inclusive intra-party talks on Afghanistan´s future.

The Taliban must ensure that Afghanistan does not become host to a terrorist threat to international security.
