The UN institutions are partners and complement the efforts by the Executive, and not an alternative to it in providing services, Shtayyed said during a meeting with Tor Wennesland, United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest political and economic developments in the region, as well as the need to raise the level of humanitarian coordination of the international body’s institutions in the Palestinian territories, the text explained.

The prime minister renewed his call to pressure Israel to comply with the international law, signed agreements and UN Security Council resolutions.

About this issue, he denounced the Israeli colonization policy on Palestinian lands, the attempts to isolate the West Bank from the Gaza Strip and the Judaization of East Jerusalem.
