Pakistan concerns about the situation in Afghanistan

Islamabad, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) Pakistan's Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi informed on Friday to his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Ibrahim Raisi, about the current situation in Afghanistan and what it means for his country.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry and published on Friday by Ariana news agency, Qureshi said that stability in Afghanistan was important for its neighboring countries.

Raisi, meanwhile, acknowledged Qureshi’s efforts to strengthen the regional approach in the wake of the situation in Afghanistan and expressed the hope that nation would achieve peace and stability.

Ariana reported that Qureshi plans to visit four countries in the region – Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – in an attempt to consult with heads of State on recent developments in Afghanistan.
