On Twitter, the Cuban foreign minister urged prompt entry into force of such a document to move on nuclear disarmament.

Cuba has repeatedly doubled down on its commitment to non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

The UN General Assembly (UNGA) declared August 29 the International Day Against CTBT, aiming at drawing the world’s attention to the seriousness of this issue and urging unified action.

‘Since nuclear weapon testings started off in 1945, over 2,000 nuclear tests have been rolled out, leaving devastating consequences for humanity,’ UNGA´s official website reported.
