Sub-Saharan Africa reports nearly eight million Covid-19 cases

Nairobi, Sept 1 (Prensa Latina) Clamouring for vaccines and marked by an uncertain future, the number of cases in Sub-Saharan Africa amount to 7,790,000 Covid-19, according to the daily report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Some 21,635 new cases were detected by health authorities on Tuesday, subject to specialized media’s doubts.

The poor capacity for data collection, inaccessibility of some areas, crowds in camps for people displaced by conflicts and weather phenomena, including other adverse factors, cast a shadow of doubt on the reliability of CDC statistics.

Regarding the death toll, the situation on Tuesday is similar to that of the previous days: 771 patients died on Tuesday from this pandemic, which has become more explosive in the last few months due to the outbreak of more contagious variants, such as the Delta one.

According to the new data, the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, has killed 196,249 people.
