Impact of coercive measures against Cuba and Venezuela debated

Caracas, Sep 10 (Prensa Latina) Experts in economics discussed the impact of the unilateral coercive measures taken by the United States against Cuba and Venezuela, the Movement of Friendship and Mutual Solidarity between the two countries reported on Friday.

The online forum was attended by the vice president of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC), Ramon Labañino, as well as lawmaker Jesus Faría, president of the Finance and Economic Development Commission of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Venezuela.

Labañino asserted that Cuba remains faithful to its principles of the construction of a more just society, despite the blockade imposed for more than six decades by the Government of the United States, further tightened by 243 sanctions adopted by the Donald Trump administration (2017-2021). ) and continued by US President Joe Biden.

According to a press release, the ANEC vice president highlighted the social indicators exhibited by Cuba and the efforts made by authorities to meet the needs of the people, even during difficulties caused by Washington’s criminal policy.
