Israeli army bombs Gaza Strip for third consecutive day

Tel Aviv, Sep 13 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli army on Monday bombed the Gaza Strip for third consecutive day, in an raid that raises, even more, the tensions derived from the Palestinian protests and Tel Aviv's repression in the last few days.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a communique that the airstrike targeted the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), which controls the coastal enclave where two million inhabitants live.

The army justified its umpteenth attack on the overcrowded area by noting that it was in response to the firing of homemade rockets by Hamas against the Israeli state.

Press reports noted that the IDF attacked sites in the towns of Beit Lahiya (north), Deir al-Balah (center) and Khan Yunis (south).

In recent weeks, clashes have occurred along the border line, where hundreds of Palestinians gathered almost every day at sunset to denounce the blockade Tel Aviv has imposed on that territory since 2007.
