Bolivia to receive new doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V

La Paz, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) Bolivia's Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Benjamin Blanco informed that, according to the program, on Wednesday national officials will receive a new batch of second doses of the Covid-19 Sputnik V vaccine in Russia, media reported on Tuesday.

Blanco said that these are 370,000 doses of the Russian vaccine to continue with the immunization campaign against Covid-19, and their arrival in Bolivia is scheduled for this weekend, Ahora el Pueblo newspaper reported.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Communication, Gabriela Alcon, informed that the State is preparing the logistics for the arrival of the immunizers and said that the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines will also arrive as donations from Spain and France.

Bolivia is experiencing a de-escalation of case with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, and has been reducing cases for 13 consecutive weeks thanks to strategies implemented by the government, such as the deployment of mobile medical brigades in the territories, according to a report by the Ministry of Health.

The head of the sector, Jeyson Auza, said, as encouraging data, that nearly 60 percent of the population has been vaccinated, but encouraged those who have not been immunized to comply with this responsibility for their own and their family’s sake.
