Eurozone industrial production stronger than expected in July

Brussels, Sep 16 (Prensa Latina) Eurozone industrial production increased in July, beating expectations despite supply-chain bottlenecks, Eurostat data released Wednesday showed.

The European Union’s statistics office Eurostat said industrial output in the 19 countries sharing the euro rose 1.5% month-on-month in July, after losing 0.1% in June.

Production of non-durable consumer goods rose 3.5% on the month, capital goods by 2.7%, durable consumer goods by 0.6% and intermediate goods by 0.4%, while production of energy fell 0.6%, Eurostat said.

Among countries for which data were available, largest monthly increases were seen in Ireland (+7.8%), Belgium (+5.0%) and Portugal (+3.5%), while the most notable decreases were seen in Lithuania (-2.0%), Slovenia (-1.8%) and Croatia (-1.6%).
