Colombia’s President welcomes US Government delegation

Bogota, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) Colombia's President Ivan Duque held a meeting today with senior officials from the National Security Council and the United States Development Finance Corporation.

According to a statement from the President, they discussed the energy transition, financing in areas of the health sector, the transition to digital technology, financing policies for women entrepreneurs and the effective and responsible management of transnational migration.

In other issues, he highlighted the support of the United States for ‘peace with legality,’ a controversial concept coined by the president.

The US delegation includes Daleep Singh, Deputy White House Security Advisor for the International Economy.

The official of Joe Biden’s Government pointed out that in the context of his tour of Latin America, the visit’s aim to Colombia is to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

Daleep Singh also stated on his speech that the Biden administration seeks to revitalize the economy of ‘friendly countries.’

In that sense, working closely with Colombia through the Build Back Better World initiative presented at the G7 Summit in Cornwall, England, following the expansion of Chinese-led projects in many emerging markets over the last decade.

The US official’s tour includes stops in Ecuador and Panama, to listen to ideas in pursuit of designing an infrastructure project through Build Back Better World initiative.
