Greek communist Youths condemn US blockade against Cuba

Athens, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) The general secretary of the Communist Youth of Greece, Nikos Abatielos, said that the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba is an act of barbarism, diplomatic sources reported Monday.

During the closing ceremony of that organization’s festival, held from September 23 to 25, Abatielos reiterated his support for the people and government of Cuba, and demanded the immediate end to the hostile policy promoted for six decades by the White House.

For his part, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Greece, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, denounced the continuity, during the administration of Joe Biden, of the aggressions against Cuba, intensified by former President Donald Trump (2017-2021).

‘Biden follows Trump’s same patterns by tightening the blockade against Cuba. For that reason, in every Greek there is a Cuban. Cuba has all our solidarity,’ he noted.

The closing session of the event took place in Tritsi Park, in this capital, and brought together thousands of people, who expressed their support for Cuba.

Among the participants were members of the aforementioned organizations and diplomats from Cuba, Vietnam and Palestine.
