Venezuela denies alleged violation of Colombian airspace

Caracas, Sep 27 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino denied today accusations made by Colombia about alleged violation of its airspace by an intelligence aircraft of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

According to a statement from the Colombian Foreign Ministry, the unmanned device would have entered up to 1.2 kilometers, south of Arauca River that serves as the boundary between the two countries, near Arauquita municipality.

Through a message published on Twitter, the official denounced Colombian government’s claims as a way to create a destabilizing scenario that would boycott the development of talks between the Bolivarian Executive and the most radical sector of the opposition.

‘It is very difficult for us to take seriously the common thread described by the Colombian warlike narrative to drown the dialogue in Mexico. It makes us think that the neighbor intelligence superentities went from guarding the production and trafficking of narcotics, to consumption’, Padrino quipped on the communication platform.

The military high command warned about the possibility of the fabrication of new false positives in order to justify a United States military intervention in Venezuela.

The previous week, the FANB denounced the violation of Venezuelan airspace by an unmanned Hermes-type aircraft, belonging to the Colombian Air Force.
