The North Korean National Academy of Defense Sciences explained that the operation was carried out on Tuesday in the Toyang commune of Jagang province (center-north).
According to state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Korean Labor Party, Pak Jong Chon, witnessed the exercise.
KCNA assured that in the first test the scientists confirmed the control and navigation stability of the rocket in active flight, in addition to the remote-controlled mobility of the hypersonic navigation warhead and its characteristics.
They also checked the stability of the ampoule-shaped fuel system, introduced for the first time, and the engine, the source added.
After successfully concluding the test, Pak outlined the strategic importance of developing the missile and deploying it for combat, and the military significance of turning all fuel systems into the ampoule format.
He urged all scientific research groups of the branch and workers of the war industry to continue to make major achievements to multiply the country’s defensive potential.
