The diplomat presented a draft resolution about the subject at the 48th regular session of the Human Rights Council and stressed the need for a fair and coordinated response to the Covid-19 pandemic and other crises experienced by the contemporary world.

Quintanilla also stressed the importance of supporting national efforts to ensure respect for the rights of all citizens.

The document aims to continue promoting democracy and equity in the current international system to fight the pandemic and its major challenges, he said.

He also indicated that a punitive monitoring approach does not predominate over the resolution, but rather advocates for strengthening cooperation and equality globally.
