Iran will keep fuel shipments to Lebanon

Beirut, Oct 8 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian assured today that Iran will maintain fuel shipments to Lebanon and reiterated Tehran's good will to provide medicines and other products to the so-called nation of cedars.

During a press conference after a two-day visit to Beirut, Amir Abdollahian assured that the Islamic republic is ready to build power generating plants in Lebanese territory.

In the last hours, the head of Persian diplomacy met with Lebanese president, Michel Aoun and Secretary General of the Hizbullah party, Hassan Nasrallah.

‘We will continue to send fuel to Lebanon in joint operations with the Hezbollah, he said, although we hope it will be a continuous process with protocol agreements between the two countries’.

The Iranian Islamic Republic has full respect for the sovereignty of this country with shores to the eastern Mediterranean Sea and its intentions will always be within the cooperation between the two governments.

In any case, the foreign minister stressed that the countries and peoples of the region will prevent the United States from crushing Lebanon with its economic war and siege.
