On her Twitter account, Ms. González said that Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and Deputy Prime Minister at Russian Federation Yury Borisov, co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Committee, debated on two-way economic relations.

According to the message, this friendly meeting aimed to review far-reaching issues for both nations and to work to continue strenthening them.

In August 2021, Cuban Presidents Miguel Díaz-Canel and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin doubled down by telephone on the excellent state of bilateral relations between both nations, as well as the significance of building up economic, commercial, financial and cooperation ties.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Moscow recently sent 88 tons of humanitarian assistance to Cuba, including one million face masks and food in order to help fight the growing Covid-19 cases and the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by United States on Cuba.
