The situation has repeated itself multiple times in the last few months, with Turkish authorities denouncing repeatedly Greece’s opposition to receiving boats laden with migrants.

According to the Turkish authorities the migrants were rescued off the coast of the provinces of Aydin and Mugla.

The dispute between Greece and Turkey encompasses issues related to migration, politics and religion, with the tensions rising in the last few months resulting from a dispute on the off-shore oil exploration at the Mediterranean Sea.
