Cuba reported 1,768 cases of Covid-19 and 22 deaths

Havana, Oct 18 (Prensa Latina) Cuba today reported 1,768 positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, the cause of Covid-19, (76 less than the previous day) and 22 deaths due to complications associated with the pandemic.

Since March 11, 2020, the country has registered 938,577 diagnosed cases and 8,101 fatalities, said the national epidemiology chief of the Ministry of Public Health, Francisco Durán, in his usual morning tv conference.

There are still 22,693 persons hospitalized, 13,295 of them suspected to Covid-19, 1,714 in epidemiological surveillance and 7,684 with the active virus, 577 less than the previous day, a figure which is decreasing and shows an evolution towards the control of the pandemic, the doctor underlined.
