Fire in Nigeria caused 25 deaths

Abuja, Oct 22 (Prensa Latina) The death toll rose to 25 today as a result of a fire at an illegal oil refinery in southern Nigerian state of 'Rivers', local authorities reported today.

Cited by digital Daily Post, the sources indicated that the incident, which took place in the last hours in the town of Emohua, occurred after the explosion of a pipeline.

After confirming the fact, leader of a local surveillance group in the area, Frank Nwazimutor, said the fire could have affected more people than those reported.

Nwazimotor argued, on the other hand, that the existence in this African country of illegal fuel processing centers is due to the lack of employment opportunities for people in working age.
