Lebanon reaffirms its support for Cuba

Beirut, Oct 23 (Prensa Latina) Lebanon has reaffirmed its support for and solidarity with the Cuban government and people amid the hostile blockade imposed by the United States for nearly 60 years, Prensa Latina News Agency reported on Saturday.

At a meeting between Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdala Bou Habib and Cuban Ambassador in Beirut Alexander Pellicer, Lebanon’s stance was revealed.

Bou Habib noted the high commonality of views between the two nations on major international agenda issues.

The Lebanese diplomat expressed understanding about the suffering caused by the US economic sanctions on Cuba since Lebanon is also a victim of it.

Both Bou Habib and Pellicer ratified their will to develop and strengthen ties of friendship between Beirut and Havana.

At the time, Pellicer praised the positive state of two-way relations and potential to ramp up cooperation for health, the production of medicines and tourism.
