Russia delivers 713,000 Sputnik V vaccines doses to Venezuela

Moscow, Oct 23 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced on Twitter on Satudarday the arrival in Venezuela of 713,000 doses of the second component of the Sputnik V vaccine against Covid-19.

Last week, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov highlighted the delivery to Venezuela of 3.86 million units of the vaccine since late 2020, and stressed that the country was the first in Latin America to register it.

At the closing of the 15th High-Level Russia-Venezuela Intergovernmental Commission in this capital, the senior official stressed that Venezuela is Russia’s strategic and trusted partner, with which it will continue to expand cooperation in different areas of development.

He also referred to the registration in that nation of Russia’s EpiVacCorona and Sputnik Light Covid 19 vaccines, which are part of new agreements.

For his part, Minister of Industries and National Production of Venezuela Jorge Arreaza thanked Russia for more than three million doses of Sputnik V received by the country ‘and we hope to meet very soon the goals that we have set for the ten millions.’
