Cuba’s Andy Cruz makes victorious debut in world boxing championship

Belgrade, Oct 26 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Andy Cruz (63.5 kg), made his debut on Tuesday with a 5-0 victory over Panamanian boxer Jonathan Miniel, so he advanced to 16th round in the World Boxing Championship being held in Belgrade, Serbia.

Cruz, Tokyo 2020 Olympic winner, won the vote of judges by 30-24, 30-27, 30-26, 30-27 and 30-26.

With his victory, Cruz, who has also won the World Championships in Hamburg 2017 and Yekaterinburg 2019, still holds the undefeated record of his country in the present event. His next fight will be against Brazil’s Nicollas de Jesus.
