The president made the pledge virtually, during South Korea’s annual group summit with leaders of the member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Moon expressed his concern that the global economic recovery is being hampered by the rapid spread of the highly-contagious SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant.

South Korea has actively participated in the ASEAN Response Fund against Covid-19, and the regional reserve of essential medical supplies.
