The president considered that the Polish government is using illegal immigration as a pretext to place its military closer to the borders with the Belarusian territory, which, he warned, are also the borders of the EU between Russia and Belarus.

‘We’ll wait a little bit, we’ll let them know. And then we will have something to place near the borders. We will respond harshly without taking into account their criticisms ‘ Lukashneko stressed, Sputnik news agency reported.

According to Polish media, Warsaw plans to send 2,500 troops and Leopard tanks to help border guards protect border areas from illegal immigrants.

U.S. Abrams and German Leopard tanks were used in recent military exercises in Lithuania near the border with Belarus.
