Thousands of policemen will guard Mexico’s Day of the Dead

Mexico, Oct 28 (Prensa Latina) 7,400 policemen will be deployed in Mexico City in an operation covering the celebration of the Day of the Dead, the capital government announced.

The police will monitor the places in the 16 municipalities where activities are carried out, said the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City.

The agents will be supported by 1,319 vehicles, motorcicle patrols, ambulances and a helicopter of the Condors that will conduct traffic control tasks, as well as prevention and surveillance, in the vicinity of the 120 cemeteries of the capital.

The police will have the support of the operators of the Command and Control Centers, and of Computing, Communications and Citizen Contact, who will monitor any disturbances of public order or health problems.

The Day of the Dead is the most anticipated national holiday in Mexico, citizen participation is massive and it takes place in all public and private spaces, including homes.
