Disrespect for multilateralism and collective efforts for a better future is intolerable, Bruno Rodríguez live-tweeted.

Rodríguez singled out Washington for its defaults to UN, accounting for about 80% of UN’s historic debt in its regular budget.

In addition, the Cuban Representative to UN Pedro Luis Pedroso described this situation as inadmissible.

“It is not justifiable from the moral viewpoint that theUnited States of America intentionally decides to withhold its contributions to UN,” Pedroso said.

This is nothing more than a way of financial pressure and boycott on the UN, he added.

Cuba has fully complied with all its payments, amid great efforts and sacrifices, despite having to deal this year with a hostile, tense economic situation, specially associated with a complex Covid-19 outbreak and the immutable economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, Pedroso stated.
