Putin said that despite G20’s decisions, fair access to vaccines and other vital resources is not possible for all countries yet, and condemned the unjust competition and protectionism by some of the member nations of this group.

The Russian president warned that the World Health Organization (WHO) must urgently speed up the requalification process of new vaccines and medicines.

He said that the faster vaccination campaigns can be expanded around the world, the easier global commercial actitivity will be resumed, including tourism, which has been affected the most.

The president proposed ordering the Ministries of Health of G20 countries to speed up the paperwork for the mutual recognition of national immunization certificates.

He recalled that the Russian vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, Sputnik V, has shown high safety and effectiveness and stressed Russia was the first nation in the world that registered a vaccine to fight the pandemic.
