Mohamed Gad, Egypt’s ambassador to Ethiopia and its permanent representative to the AU, announced that among the priorities is the holding of a ministerial-level meeting to address strategies in the fight against terrorism and extremist ideologies.

The region faces other security challenges such as organized crime, ethnic tensions and internal political crises, as well as the effects of climate change and natural disasters, Gad noted.

He noted that climate issues and illegal immigration will be other key issues to be addressed during November.
