“Everybody knows, in Brazil and the world, that Bolsonaro is a liar,” Lula said through his advisors’ office.

During an interview with SkyTV24 in Italy, Bolsonaro said, without presenting any proof, that Lula had ties with drug traffickers.

He said that the former working class leader was one of the several left-wing authorities in Brazil and Spain that had received drug trafficking resources from Venezuela.

Bolsonaro said that Lula’s political leadership started with the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) and his relation with drug trafficking started in that moment. He concluded that his own accession to power in 2018 was the miracle that saved Brazil.

In this regard, PT president Gleisi Hoffmann objected the words of the former Army captain, whom she considers an isolated ruler.
