In a telephone conversation with Extra News television channel, the presidential advisor for health affairs, Awad Tag El Din, explained that a total of 35 million doses were administered.

He stressed that the country spent some $400 million on the purchase of the vaccines.

However, he indicated that Egypt is working at an accelerated pace to achieve self-sufficiency in this area and to collaborate with Africa.

As part of that strategy, a factory was built to produce up to three million doses per day of the Chinese Covid-19 vaccine Sinovac, it will be able to produce up one billion annually.

During a Cabinet meeting yesterday, the Minister of Higher Education and acting Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, announced the construction of more than one thousand vaccination centers, distributed throughout the national territory.
