On Monday, under a presidential decree, a stage of broad and conscious easing during the months of November and December, which will be maintained or not depending on the trend of the infection curve in the country, began.
When announcing this measure on Sunday, President Nicolas Maduro said that the strategy adopted by the government to guarantee safety for all citizens was the key to make this decision, which will contribute to strengthening the economic, educational and family system.
“If we had not made the decisions we made, with the reins in our hands, we would have had to suffer what Brazil or Colombia or beyond have suffered.”
He said that the pandemic is being kept in check through the implemented health policies and called on the population to maintain discipline, self-care and all the necessary measures to prevent contagion.
Meanwhile, mass vaccination has been carried out in the entire country in order to meet the goal of immunizing 85 percent of the population before the end of this year. Besides, students have been gradually returning to schools for the past few weeks.
From this Monday on, the health traffic light will be put into operation in establishments, restaurants and shopping centers, where people will be classified: a green circle for those who have been vaccinated; a yellow circle for healthy citizens without vaccination; and a red circle for those without vaccination who contracted the disease in the last 21 days.
