Cuba confirms 549 new Covid-19 cases and six deaths

Havana, Nov 2 (Prensa Latina) Cuba confirmed this Tuesday 549 new Covid-19 cases, for a total of 953,183 since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, reported the Public Health Ministry (Minsap).

On its website, the Minsap regretted the death of six people, for a total of 8,246 deaths.

It specified that 17,477 samples were studied for surveillance in the last 24 hours, a figure which now totals 10,558,968. No contagions with a foreign source were recorded.

By age group, 83 cases were reported in children under 20 years of age, from 20 to 39 (121), from 40 to 59 (166) and over 60 (179). The province of Sancti Spiritus (center) is the only one that exceeds 100 cases per day in the country with 126, the note added.

Active infections amount to 3,378, of which 3,282 are in stable clinical evolution, 59 are in serious condition and 37 are critical. Yesterday, 839 hospital discharges were granted, for an accumulated total of 941,502 patients recovered (98.8 percent).

At the end of October 31, the Caribbean country accumulated 25. 800,950 doses administered with the Cuban vaccines Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus, from the Finlay Vaccine Institute, and Abdala, from the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
