Donation from US solidarity groups arrives in Cuba

Havana, Nov 5 (Prensa Latina) A donation of food and medicines organized by US solidarity groups arrived on Friday in the Cuban capital with an estimated load of 18,000 pounds.

The initiative, organized by Code Pink, Bridges of Love and People’s Forum, was supported by the Martin Lutter King Jr. Center for its transportation, according to information from its organizers.

Upon arrival on Cuban soil, Cuban-American Professor Carlos Lazo, leader of Bridges of Love, expressed gratitude for the solidarity and ratified the need to strengthen family ties between Cuba and the United States, he told reporters.

The Cuban Foreign Ministry also expressed its gratitude for the initiative to support the Cuban people in the face of the strengthening of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.
