Syria, China ratify solid relations and mutual support

Damascus, Nov 5 (Prensa Latina) The Presidents of China and Siria, Xi Jinping and Bashar al-Assad, respectively, on Friday ratified their willingness to boost cooperation and keep mutual support for their national causes and at international forums.

Relations with China are essential to support the firmness of the Syrian people in the face of international terrorism and the unfair blockade, the Syrian president said during a telephone conversation with his Chinese counterpart, according to a press release from the presidency.

He expressed Damascus’ interest in joining the Belt and Road Initiative, which he described as an effective way to boost the economy, achieve development and unite peoples and humanity.

He thanked Beijing for its political support at international forums and its commitment to international law and world peace.

Al-Assad praised China’s efforts to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and stop the terrorist war against it and thanks it for the great humanitarian aid it offers to his people to ease its suffering.

For his part, the Chinese president considered that the friendship between his country and Syria is rooted in history.

He reiterated his willingness to keep on cooperating and supporting the reconstruction efforts in Syria and supported the Syrian people’s struggle to defend the country’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also condemned foreign interference in its internal affairs.
