In its monthly report Activity, employment and unemployment, it pointed out that at the end of September these categories represented 61.6 percent, 55.8 percent and 9.4 percent respectively.

On the other hand, when observing the characteristics of employed persons, it is estimated that “10.4 percent are underemployed, while the non-registration to social security for their main job stood at 22.4 percent”.

The INE explained that among men, unemployment stood at 8.4 percent, in contrast to 10.5 percent among women, an immovable proportion more unfavorable throughout the current year.

With the Covid-19 pandemic under control and greater mobility, other numbers were expected in the labor market, which worries workers.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security recognized the loss of at least 60,000 jobs among the economic impacts of the pandemic since 2020.

Such a situation will be the focus of the National Congress of the trade union central Pit-Cnt, which will be in session from Friday, preceded by a succession of vindication strikes of different unions in the face of wage losses.
