“In the context of the harsh economic blockade against Cuba, organized and continued by the United States in violation of all international standards for more than 60 years, we see the attempts at organizing new forms of subversive actions against that heroic people,” the text states.
It pointed out that taking advantage of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, Washington tried to aggravate their social situation through radical groups and street riots.
The communiqué warns that they are trying to create the appearance of protests with the support of extremist groups.
“At this moment, actions are carried out with the aim of forming long-term decentralized opposition structures, which are coordinated with the help of social networks at the level of local communities,” he denounces.
The Belarusian lawmakers shared the experience of their country, where there have been attempts at so-called soft coups and other well-known practices aimed at destabilizing this nation and, in particular, overthrowing its government.
The statement refers to the possibility of other measures from the United States aimed at affecting the Cuban biopharmaceutical industry and, especially, the production and commercialization of vaccines against Covid-19.
The Belarusian parliamentarians ratified their unconditional support for the Cuban Government and people, and demanded the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, which “in the context of the pandemic, is a direct and selective genocide”.
