The vaccines, from the Sinopharm laboratory, the first one to supply them to this country, arrived at Lima’s Jorge Chavez International Airport, and the donation includes over a million syringes to administer the shots.

The report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs adds that the donation allows Peru to keep on speeding up the immunization of its population against Covid-19 within the framework of the National Vaccination Plan.

According to the press release, the Chinese government’s donation is a reflection of the excellent state of diplomatic relations with Peru, which will turn 50 this year and were taken to a higher level: a Comprehensive Strategic Association.

It also highlights the fruitful cooperation ties between both nations, the growing bilateral trade, Chinese investments in Peru, and the dynamic political and diplomatic relations between both parties.
