Work is underway in all areas liberated by the Syrian Army to rehabilitate the infrastructure of services and ensure conditions for the return of the displaced, said the Minister of Municipal Administration, Husein Makhlouf, in a speech delivered during the meeting.

He explained that since the beginning of this year, the rehabilitation of thousands of houses and commercial establishments was completed, while hundreds of electric and water plants, health centers and irrigation networks were rebuilt.

According to the Minister, the Government guarantees, in spite of the challenges imposed by the war and the blockade, free education to 3,600,000 children under 18 years old and to 780,000 university students.

On the other hand, he revealed that more than 20 000 military deserters and fugitives were pardoned after surrendering their weapons in the framework of a reconciliation and pacification process implemented in the provinces of Deraa, Deir Ezzor, Hasakeh, Quneitra and other provinces.

Makhlouf appreciated the efforts of Russia, Iran and China to ensure the needs of Syrians facing hardships as a result of the blockade and sanctions imposed by the US and its plunder of the Syrian people’s natural resources.
