In her Thursday press conference, the presidential spokeswoman, Gabriela Cerrutti, reiterated that since the beginning of the administration, in December 2019, the Executive led by Alberto Fernandez has reiterated its call to the political forces to jointly agree on what are the main items to carry forward on a basis of common values such as inflation control, health, redistribution and social justice.
We understand that some extremes do not want to participate in this talks dialogue with anti-democratic or authoritarian stances. In the rest of the political parties, we hope that good sense and the vocation to reach a consensus will prevail, said the official, when asked about a new call from Fernandez to the different political coalitions.
On the other hand, the presidential spokeswoman referred to last Sunday’s legislative elections and pointed out that the Government is strong, consolidated and enthusiastic. We listen to the citizens when they vote and every day, it is a daily construction. In spite of many soothsayers, we are determined to carry out what remains to be done, she added.
In her contact with the press, Cerruti also referred to the figures that show a positive economic recovery in the last months and highlighted that Argentina is one of the countries that has grown the most in the world after Covid-19.
When asked about the future agreement for the renegotiation of the debt with the International Monetary Fund, she specified that the project on which the Economy Minister, Martin Guzman, is working, includes the necessary agreements for a multiannual economic program, in the hope of reaching a consensus and this will be sent to Congress early in December.
