First direct Moscow-Cancun flight in seven years takes place

Moscow, Nov 18 (Prensa Latina) The first direct flight between Moscow and Cancun in the past seven years departed this Thursday at 13:04 hours, local time, on a route that will be operated by Russia's leading airline, Aeroflot.

The Airbus’ A350-900 flight will take 13 hours to reach its destination and according to the airline’s spokeswoman Yulia Spivakova, the flights to the Mexican tourist destination will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

During the farewell at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport, passengers enjoyed Mexican music at the check-in counters, while on board the aircraft, the crew gave them gifts and special souvenirs, Sputnik news agency reported.
