Palestinian prisoner dies in Israel

Tel Aviv, Nov 18 (Prensa Latina) A member of the Palestinian Fatah governmental movement who had been held in an Israeli prison for more than a decade died from a chronic illness, The Jerusalem Post reported today.

According to the newspaper, Sami al Amour, born in the Gaza Strip, was transferred on Tuesday from a prison to Soroka Medical Center, where he died.

The newspaper reported that an Israeli court sentenced the Fatah militant to 19 years in prison in 2008.

The occupation troops arrested more than 5,400 Palestinians in the first half of 2021 alone, including 854 minors and 107 women, according to data from various non-governmental organizations.
