This figure includes 1,373,592 internally displaced persons and 951,702 refugees who returned to the country, they explained in a statement issued at the end of a meeting in this capital.

They highlighted the diligent and tireless work of the Syrian government to boost this return by providing returnees with food, medical care and job opportunities, in addition to the reconstruction of housing and new public health, education and energy facilities.

The authorities pay special attention to the development of the educational system and the integration of children victims of the war into society as soon as possible, the statement said.

It revealed that the Russian side carried out, since 2015, 3,027 humanitarian aid operations, during which 529,886 tons of food, medicines and basic materials were delivered.

They referred to the joint operation to pacify Deraa, making possible that more than 80 percent of the displaced people from that southern province returned to their permanent places of residence.

They also called on all countries and international organizations to actively participate in the process of social and economic reconstruction of Syria and lift unilateral measures against the Syrian people.
