Cuba describes Nicaragua’s daring decision to withdraw from OAS

Diaz-Canel-y-Daniel-Ortega
Havana, Nov 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Saturday branded Nicaragua's decision to withdraw from the Organization of American States (OAS) as plucky and also ratified his country´s solidarity with Nicaragua.

On Twitter, the Cuban president posted that Nicaragua once again gave lessons on sovereignty and dignity.

“Cuba fully supports for Nicaragua´s brave decision to withdraw from American Colonies Ministry, as appointed by our former foreign minister (Raúl Roa) to the OAS,” he tweeted.

On Friday, the Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also supported Nicaragua´s decision and condemned OAS´ interference in internal affairs.

“We support #Nicaragua’s brave decision to withdraw from OAS. It constitutes a firm and dignified response to Luis Almagro´s actions in league with the United States, in order to try to meddle in decisions that only concern the Nicaraguan people,” Bruno Rodríguez live-tweeted.

Nicaragua´s Foreign Ministry sent a letter of complaint to Luis Almagro on Friday and announced its decision to definitively withdraw from the regional forum.
