“We congratulate the Venezuelan people and its institutions that, once again, bet on overcoming their political differences through democratic means, at the ballot box, banishing all kinds of foreign interference,” Arce said in his official Twitter account.

The president also recognized the work of the observers who accompanied this process.

On his part, Morales joined this greeting “for the great triumph of Chavismo that won 20 out of 23 governorships in regional elections”. In a tweet he highlighted that this “is the victory of the Bolivarian Revolution of Venezuela with its president Nicolás Maduro in the face of the criminal blockade of the United States and its political operators”.

This Sunday Venezuela went to the polls to elect the nation’s 23 governors and 335 mayors, as well as the members of the regional legislative councils and municipal councils.
