Fifth anniversary of Fidel Castro’s death celebrated in Poland

Warsaw, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of several Polish organizations participated in a ceremony in memory of Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the fifth anniversary of his death, diplomatic sources reported on Thursday.

The ceremony took place at the Cuban Embassy in this country and was attended by prominent Polish intellectual Lech Miodek, Eduardo Szustka, former president of the Friendship with Cuba Association, other members of his organization and members of the Cuban embassy.

After the screening of the documentary “Homage to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro,” Cuban Ambassador Jorge Marti said that the prominent revolutionary, who died on Nov.25, 2016, bequeathed to his nation the achievements of social justice, independence, sovereignty and dignity.

Fidel Castro also inspired current and future generations of Cubans with the capacity of resistance, confidence in victory, as well as the willingness to continue building a better world, which is possible, the diplomat stressed.
