Russia to resume Brazilian beef and pork imports

Moscow, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Russian Federal Veterinary and Phyto-sanitary Control Service (Rosseljoznadzor) reported that as of November 25, it will resume imports of beef and pork from 12 Brazilian companies, local media reported.

The decision was the result of the work done by Brazilian authorities to comply with Russian requirements, which made it possible for negotiations between Rosseljoznadzor top executive Sergei Dankvert and Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply Tereza Cristina Correa.

Russia will evaluate expanding the list of Brazilian companies certified to supply beef to the country with the aim of further increasing their number in the future.

Rosseljoznadzor introduced temporary restrictions on importing Brazilian beef, pork and their by-products in late 2017, according to TASS news agency.
