The acts of vandalism occurred in the Zamora, Arzobizpo Chacón and Andrés Bello municipalities after the inauguration of right-wing mayors and were denounced by the Minister of Communication Freddy Ñañez, the day before.

The Attorney General, Tarek Willian Saab, through his account in the social network Twitter, explained that these community stations had their cables cut, cabins damaged and the directors were physically threatened, even in the presence of minors.

In the case of Mérida, Elvis Dávila, member of the Molinillo Azul Community Foundation, denounced through an audio, that the radio station La Azulita Comunitaria 107.3 FM, in the municipality of Andrés Bello, the mayor elected by the opposition, María Villasmil, and a group of people tried to force them to close, arguing that the headquarters belong to the mayor’s office.

Ñáñez was the first to denounce and broadcast these irregularities which violate the freedom of expression established in the Constitution as a fundamental right.

The community radio stations are a project created by the Bolivarian Revolution as part of the communication programs to keep the people informed and to fight back the fake news broadcasted by the big media.
