Italian cuisine week opens in Cuba

Havana, Nov 29 (Prensa Latina) The Italian Cuisine Week in Cuba opened on Monday with a rich menu of dishes by gastronomic professionals from the two countries, as part of meetings scheduled until December 4.

Specialized courses on typical dishes, sommelier and cocktail-making sessions are part of the event, organized by the Italian Embassy, the Italian Foreign Trade Agency and similar culinary associations in Cuba.

The event, whose main venues are the ArteChef project of the Culinary Federation, the Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski and the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, promotes the training and accompaniment of several Italian companies to the growing domestic market.

In its second edition, the Italian Cuisine Week returns to Havana to impregnate the atmosphere with the flavors and tradition of the European nation through wine pairing, drink tasting and other courses specialized in famous pastas, pizzas, bread, risottos and desserts.

For the first time, the event will be the venue for the Cuba 2021 Wine Festival, where some 20 companies that produce this specialty and spirits will participate both virtually and face-to-face.

Among its objectives, the event encourages the passion and learning of the specialties that distinguish Italy and its culinary products through business meetings, talks with chefs and a solid training offer focused on the hotel and catering sector in Cuba.
